The village of Lochgoilhead sits on the shores of the fjord type Loch Goil within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. This is considered to be one of the most dramatic and scenic areas in Argyll.
Your first visit is memorable as you arrive via the single-track road winding it’s way down from the viewpoint of the Rest and be Thankful. If this road is closed there is a second way to access if you continue for a few miles until you reach a signpost for Dunoon and Creggans Hotel on your left. After approx 3 miles you will turn left again, signposted Lochgoilhead.
Directions to 7 Ben Arthur Pl, Lochgoilhead, Cairndow PA24 8AA, from Glasgow and the South–Follow the M8 westbound, towards the Erskine Bridge (M8)At M8 Junction 30, turn off onto the M898 to go over the Erskine Bridge and at the end of the bridge, bear left to take the A82 for Crianlarich
Follow the A82 going straight through all roundabouts, through Dumbarton and along the side of Loch Lomond to Tarbet. At Tarbet stay on the road taking the A83 through Arrochar signposted towards Campbeltown.
About 6 miles after Arrochar at the top of the Rest and Be Thankful, turn left at the car park at the top signposted the B828 Lochgoilhead.
After 3 miles you will come to a give way, turn left and travel for another 3 miles along the B839 until you come into Lochgoilhead.
Please note that the road from the Rest and Be Thankful is a single- track road with passing places, please take great care.
When you go over the bridge coming into Lochgoilhead you will drive along a street with houses on either side, Ben Arthur Place is the on your left, a block of appartments, numbered on the front. Ideally park along this street although if you turn left to the rear of the properties there is one space per appartment and you can enter via the back door.
Just past the property you cansee the loch in front of you the Goil Inn on your left-hand side and recycling on the right. There is also a wee shop opposite.
